Why we started
Point North Foundation began with a simple promise: pursue academic excellence by opening the door for others to do the same. When we were in school, we saw peers whose talent outpaced their means. So when we were able, we started with a bursary in each of our names. Those early bursaries confirmed the obvious yet overlooked - targeted support changes trajectories.
What it became
The bursaries grew into the Edward Allen Perry Memorial Scholarship and an annual Undergraduate Business Case Competition—a Canadian scholarship fund and public stage for student capability. We focus on access, evidence, and employability: real cases, real feedback, and recruiters in the room. Top teams receive cash awards, certificates, and recognition—because excellence deserves a spotlight, not just a transcript.
Why it matters
Talent is universal, opportunity is not. The Foundation removes avoidable barriers so students can learn, compete, and lead—regardless of starting point. It also honors Edward’s life in education and leadership in industry by investing in the next generation of thinkers and builders.
Our annual award
Winners of the competition receive the Point North Foundation Award with public recognition of their analysis, clarity, teamwork, and integrity. We celebrate recipients on our site and across our channels to give their ideas reach.
How to help
This work endures because a community chooses to back it. You can become a sponsor (email sponsor@pointnorthfoundation.org), contribute directly to the Edward Allen Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund, or help us expand outreach so more students can compete and be seen and more angel donors can support this worthy cause.
